INDIA OR CANADA, AFGHAN SIKHS ARE INDECISIVE

The March 25 killing of pilgrims inside a Kabul Gurdwara has led to the demand of bringing back the Sikhs to India from Afghanistan. But they are indecisive over the decision for taking refuge in India or the North American country Canada. Different Sikh agencies in Canada are pushing for asylum for these Sikhs to Canada, which has the sizeable Sikh population and Justin Trudeau government is towards the community and has a number of Sikhs on the key portfolios including Harjit Singh Sajjan as a defense minister.

In forty years from 1979 when Russian forces moved into Afghanistan, then a peaceful, fun-loving and business-oriented nation, a number of Sikhs and Hindus were 100,000 plus, the number now has shrunk to 700, in about 150 families. They are living in Kabul and other parts of the terror torn country. Despite historical links with India, all of them are Afghan nationals. The Indian government is in quandary as to how it should single out the Sikh community and bring them to safety in India, while attacks on other innocent people and religious minorities in continue, for many years.

Once strong business community, flush with money and resources Sikh community has been reduced to a countable and hapless who are dependent on Gurdwaras for safety and security as Afghanistan government has virtually given in to the pressure from terror groups.

In the 1980s Sikhs were known to be astute businessmen dealing in foreign currency, construction, dry fruits, opium, textile, and import-export. Most of the Kabuli-Sikhs, as they are commonly referred, have shifted base to India, Europe, England, US and Canada. Those who are left behind to fend for themselves are poor, doing odd jobs and run small businesses. They have abandoned their houses, properties, shops and businesses.

So far there is no official word from the Canadian government on the Sikhs’ migration issue. Sajjan showing solidarity towards the Afghan Sikhs on his social site platform, “I spoke with Afghan national security advisor, Dr. Mohib following the heinous attack on a Kabul Gurdwara. I am encouraged by the steps taken to increase security for Afghan Sikhs, Hindus and all minorities, as they work towards peace”.

Both Indian and Canadian governments are waiting for the lockdown period to get over, to take decision on the matter. The lockdown is to check spread of novel coronavirus.

On Indian side, the general perception is that the Afghan Sikhs should give a guarantee that they would stay in India and not try to escape to some other country for which they should come forward. “The Sikhs should first ask for refuge, India needn’t offer it unilaterally,” says former Indian foreign secretary Kanwal Sibal.

According to him, the attack against the Sikhs justifies the rationale of the Citizens’ (Amendment Act) but the Afghan Sikhs cannot take advantage of the CAA to have fast-tracked citizenship because of the cut-off date of December 31, 2014. “They will have to take shelter in India if they seek it and become eligible for citizenship as per the Citizenship Law,” said Sibal.

But the former foreign secretary also cautions that taking the initiative to offer refuge to Sikhs will signal that Delhi no longer has confidence in the ability of the Afghan government to provide security to the minority.

“This will be inadvisable as we have friendly relations with the Kabul government and we should not undermine it,” Sibal says pointing out that other sections of the population are also under attack in Afghanistan, including security forces and even in the secure zone in the city.

“We should be clear about their nationality. If they are Indians, surely. If they are not, on what basis can we bring them back,” says Gautam Mukhopadhaya who was India’s ambassador to Afghanistan from 2010 to 2013. “We should not be falling into the CAA trap,” he added.

A large number of Sikhs who landed in India after Russian occupation of 1979 have migrated to Canada and other European countries. “We are confused because lots of Sikhs in India’s Punjab are migrating to Canada. So why not if we should also try to be in Canada,” said a Sikh from Afghanistan sharing his viewpoint with dissectit.

FACE CONSEQUENCES IF KNOWINGLY RESPONSIBLE FOR COVID19 SPREAD, TRUMP TELLS CHINA

The cold war between the two world powers USA and China took a new turn when US President Donald Trump warned China of consequences if it was “knowingly responsible” for the spread of the novel coronavirus pandemic, which has taken into grip the whole world.

Trump, head of the North American nation perceived to be powerful in terms of might, money and muscle also hinted of deteriorating relationship with the Eastern country which has spread tentacles in the entire world with the sheer intelligence, grit and hard work. Trump alleged non-transparency and initial non-cooperation with the US over handling of the outbreak and also expressed disappointment over handling of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) by China.

“If they were knowingly responsible, yeah, then there should be consequences,” he told reporters at a White House news conference on April 18, adding that the scale of disease is what world face in rhe Spanish flu of 1917.

Trump said his relationship with China was very good till the time the deadly COVID-19 swept the world. “The relationship was good when we were signing that, but then, all of a sudden, you hear about this. So, it’s a big difference,” wrote Outlook magazine quoting news agency press trust of India.

“You know, the question was asked would you be angry at China. Well, the answer very well might be a very resounding yes, but it depends,” Trump said. The president underlined that there was a big difference between a mistake that got out of control or something done deliberately.

“In either event, they should have let us go in. You know, we asked to go in very early and they didn’t want us in. I think they knew it was something bad and I think they were embarrassed,” Trump said.

He claimed that China was pitching for former vice president Joe Biden, who is the presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party for the presidential election.

“If sleepy Joe Biden wins, China will own the United States,” Trump said, setting the tone for ensuing presidential polls in his country, and added that his administration had gained billions of dollars from China due to his assertive trade policies; putting himself on the top of the situation.

The president in the media briefing reiterated that coronavirus crisis had hurt everybody. “We had the greatest economy in the world by far. China isn’t even close. Go back two months. And we’re going to keep it that way,” he said.  Trump asserted that Iran was now a much different country than it was before. “When I first came in, Iran was going to take over the entire Middle East,” he said. “Right now, they just want to survive.”

Chinese president Xi Jinping was yet to react of Trump’s comment.

However, earlier, in the last week of March month Jinping had called on Trump to take “substantive actions” to improve relations between the two countries, as China prepared to shut its borders to foreign arrivals amid fears of infections coming from abroad. Then also it had followed by weeks of traded barbs over the virus. According to state media, Xi told Trump in a phone call on March 27 that US-China relations had reached an “important juncture”.

“Working together brings both sides benefits, fighting hurts both. Cooperation is the only choice,” he said. Xi said he hoped the US would take “substantive actions” to improve US-China relations to develop a relationship that is “without conflict and confrontation” but based on “mutual respect and mutually beneficial cooperation.”

Trump has continued to call the disease “the Chinese virus,” despite protestations from Beijing. Chinese diplomats have in turn pushed the idea that the virus, which emerged in the central Chinese city of Wuhan, originated in the US. Xi also said he hoped the US would take “effective measures” to safeguard the lives of Chinese citizens in the US, describing the pandemic as the “common enemy of mankind.” He said: “Only by united can the international community defeat it.”

CHINA A GAINER IN PANDEMIC OUTBREAK, STARTS REFURBISHING IMAGE

Eastern nation China has emerged as a clear cut gainer financially, after the outbreak of the COVID19 pandemic. Like many other countries, it may also have lost thousands of its people to the fatal coronavirus but coffers of its bluechip companies are flush with funds. The country’s economy has reportedly dipped by 6.8% but the land of the dragon has realized that it has to make special efforts to pull up its public relation stocks especially when the world including the United States and other big nations like India are blaming it for the spread of the dreadful virus, the world over.

Putting a stamp on its country’s rising financial might, people’s bank of China (PBOC) purchased 17.5 million shares India’s biggest mortgage lender, housing development finance corporation (HDFC), which surprised everyone in the financial market. The shares with a value of US dollars 400 million, may not be a huge amount for the Chinese economy, but it sets a positive note. Apart from PBOC, China’s central bank had already bought a 0.8% share of HDFC since March 2019.

By an estimate the world economy has suffered a dent of US dollars 408 billion, the HURUN list by British chartered accountant Rupert Hoogewerf has shown Chinese taking over the billionaire’s list.

China native, American citizen Eric Yuan founder of Zoom application has seen his wealth skyrocketing to 77% touching net worth of dollars 8 billion, from 3 billion in two months. Though embargos have been imposed on the social application which suddenly became hit with anyone who wants to converse with a group of people. Zoom has taken over all social sites and is a household name.

Chinese Alex Xu founder of Mindray is supplying ventilators to the entire world, has seen rise in wealth by 26% to US dollars 13.5 billion in just two month time.

Animal feed manufacturer Liu Yonghao also from China has seen net worth rising by 20%to dollars 15 billion.

Another Chinese Qin Yinling Chairman of Muyuan has seen money multiplying in his coffers by 16% to dollars 22 billion. Experts are saying the world over business tycoons are losing but Chinese are gainers and the trend needs to be investigated.

Contrary to the success in the East, America’s Jeff Bezos of the Amazon has witnessed a fall in net worth by dollars 9 billion and Bernard Arnault’s net worth fell by dollars 30 billion.

Similarly the net worth of Amancio Zara owner of Zara group fell dollars 17 billion and Mexican businessman Carlos Slim had to shed 24% of his wealth witnessing a meltdown of dollars 17 billion wealth.

Indian business lord Mukesh Ambani is no longer among world’s ten richest, Ritesh Agarwal founder of Oyo hotels is no longer youngest billionaire as his company’s evaluation dropped to dollars 6 billion from 10 billion dollars. Also, Gautam Adani lost 37% of his 6 billion worth, Shiv Nadar HCL founder suffered loss of 26% and banker Uday Kotak lost dollars 4 billion out of his net worth.

As an intelligent step, the country which is run from Beijing has started earnest attempts to rebrand its image.

As a pilot of an international airline company revealed dissectit, the cargo planes from the entire world are queuing up in Shanghai to take medical supplies, PPE kits and ventilators and other essential equipment to fight coronavirus.

This is part of Chinese outreach programme, to help countries who are in the thick of the Covid 19 pandemic outbreak.

The move to blame China for the current mess the world finds itself in began in the United States with President Donald Trump’s critical public utterances, who named it Chinese virus. Subsequently, it has found takers for the virus theory in many other countries.

The first sign of the Chinese counter-move to the ongoing campaign became visible in India ten days ago when a consignment of medical supplies arrived in Delhi. It was to help India deal with the Coronavirus pandemic.

The Chinese gesture can also be seen as returning the favour done to it by India. Last month India had sent 15 tonnes of medical supplies to Wuhan, the capital of China’s Hubei province from where the Covid-19 virus is widely believed to have originated.

It has been sending doctors and medical supplies also to other parts of the world. Many critics, however, see it as an attempt on Beijing’s part to re-brand itself as not as the problem but the solution of the Covid-19 pandemic.

INDIAN-AMERICAN COVID19 SURVIVOR ASK TRUMP TO SEEK COMPENSATION INTO TRILLIONS FROM CHINA

Indian American attorney Ravi Batra blaming that coronavirus was genetically-engineered in a laboratory in Wuhan, China, which has caused pandemic worldwide has written to American President Donald Trump to seek compensation from China, running into trillions of dollars. Batra a survivor of the deadly virus sought compensation for the thousands of deaths and also for causing colossal damage to the American economy.

As reported in India’s news agency Press Trust Of India he wrote that the unleashing of global death and suffering with the coronavirus, a plague upon all of us, is worse than Pearl Harbor, and given its deception, and later, cover-up, lack any semblance of Honor.

“On the established rules of law, China is least guilty of negligence in proximately causing a world pandemic, where nearly two million people have suffered its pain and suffering, and nearly 122,000 souls have lost their lives and left their families damaged and fractured,” he said in a letter written on April 14.

China owes us civil compensation – at least for negligence – a fair and reasonable amount, “which I recommend match our standard for 9/11, but no less than $USD1 million dollars for every American who tested positive for Coronavirus, $5 million for every American who died, and $100,000 for every American who has to be ‘locked down’,” he said.

“I recommend, given the cover-up, which exacerbated the injury, pain and suffering globally, as well as avoidable deaths, that China’s ownership of debts in every country – for example the USD1.2T in China’s ownership of our T-Bills – be cancelled,” Batra said.

In his letter, Batra charged China with hiding the actual source of coronavirus.

He also accused Beijing of ignoring “the fraudulent assertion” by the Chinese Communist Party Propaganda Czar that “Wuhanan Seafood Market, with zero Bats, has any value to getting to the source.”

China, it appears, is following an old playbook it developed in SARS outbreak, he alleged.

In a report by Fox News COVID-19 originated in a Wuhan laboratory not as a bio-weapon, but as part of China’s effort to demonstrate that its efforts to identify and combat viruses are equal to or greater than the capabilities of the United States. This may be the “costliest government coverup of all time,” one of the sources was quoted as saying by Fox News.

When asked about the Fox’s report, President Donald Trump told reporters at the White House that the administration is doing a thorough investigation of it. “More and more we’re hearing the story…we are doing a very thorough examination of this horrible situation,” Trump said in response to the question.

In his letter, Batra alleged COVID-19 has a reversed-engineered and grafted-on in a lab of the natural-to-bats “receptor-binding” domain structure, the “mushrooms” on the surface, of the “SARS-CoV”.

“The natural ‘mushroom’ on the surface of ‘SARS-CoV’ is in a lab genetically added/spliced/grafted onto ‘2019-n-CoV’ – which I have, from personal experience, called a Trojan Horse to have a friendly ‘handshake’, is in fact accurate biochemically – as ‘receptor-binding’ unlocks the human cell, and enters the human body much easier!” he alleged. “The SARS’ ‘Bat-SL-CoVZc45’ and ‘Bat-SL-CoVZXC21’ – with its natural Bat-based ‘mushrooms on the surface – did not enter humans,” Batra said.

THE GREAT DEPRESSION OF 2020 AND THE HUMAN RACE

The world is silent, roads are cleaner and the minty breeze is blowing that gives the feeling of lungs freshening up. However, there’s a noise building up in the backdrop and there’s no escaping, it’s always there, in or around our head, like low radio chatter, or a mosquito buzzing past. The background music is of the pandemic, and in the subconscious, it’s amplifying the sound of life-threatening COVID19 outbreak.

Life’s pendulum shakes between work con-calls, to-do lists, and friends, relatives, siblings, children, parents living at a distance, continuously poking you over the phone and or the linkages on social sites. They are seeking to talk, like never before…madly, insistently. The concerns are natural to know the well being as everyone is vulnerable so much so that if caught in the flu, it’s contagious nature can’t bring anyone closure but would set apart, further.

Also on the mind are bare-essentials shopping expeditions and a break to do the dishes and extending a helping hand in keeping home, turned into a work area, clean. These issues were never bothering the working class before the lockdown, but now, wife and mother need a helping hand in mopping and cleaning, while son, father, and husband are reluctant. “Not me. I won’t (mop the floor)”. But they don’t miss to ask, “What’s for lunch?”

In the tug of war for mopping the floor and other household chores, the thought prevails; Is everything alright in the world? There are bigger worries: Death and pestilence.

Back again to: Are we alright? The question one doesn’t want to ask, but it strikes back like a pendulum, repeatedly, again and again.

This ghostly corona of fear already rings us: not the virus itself but the cloud of mental demons it flies in with. It infects the entire human race with a varying degrees—this species of anxiety, this nervousness of the age. It’s like a crash test on the psychological health of a world that has not seen a moment of collective trauma like this for several generations.

The Corona ghost is mocking our insurance policies, our diet plans, the pile of multi-vitamins we have consumed in building immunity, our gated communities, our medicines, and all the instruments we are using to secure our lives seems to have been dwarfed by the virus threat.

While the entire class of animals is enjoying the exclusiveness and birds are chirruping fearlessly in the absence of us humans, left us to worry, are the stocks full, enough to last the lockdown; lest the shops are shut permanently.

There’s yet another big fight before us. All of us are inundated in gush of bad news, the number of casualties, the rising number of “positives” and China taking over the world economy and US can’t afford to have another idiot like (US President) Donald Trump as its head.

No wonder, there are signs of trauma and depression, and a spike in cases of domestic violence, besides those addicted are fighting withdrawal symptoms. Are we on the pages of dystopian novel or facing a mordant truth?

It’s not about science and the virus, or being able to buy essentials. World is not normal. Stress is taking its toll, no less than a mental pandemic. We are faced with a colossal challenge to our collective sanity of mankind.

An advisory by World Health Organisation issued in March month suggests to:

  • Minimize watching, reading, and listening the news about CIVID19, as it may make one feel anxious or distressed.
  • It’d not mandatory to reading what we have written about depression of 2020
  • Do not refer COVID 19 as a disease and also not link to any ethnicity or nationality (though contrary to the advice Trump referred it as a Chinese Virus).
  • Not to refer people with disease as COVID19 cases, victims or families
  • Protect oneself and support others
  • Make efforts to amplify the positivity and helpful stories. We pulled out a  picture of Kate Bosworth and Michael Polish taking a stroll alongwith their pet. Another is of a happy family in Calgary
  • Help children to express their feeling about stress and anxiety and indulge yourself and your children in playful activities staying at home

COVID19 IMPACT TO GO DEEPER THAN THE GREAT DEPRESSION

recession-ahead

International monetary fund (IMF) has predicted the worst of times ahead due to the ongoing COVID19 pandemic that has spread tentacles in the entire world.  With half of 189 member countries lined up for financial aid, IMF head Kristalina Georgieva said it’s a situation emerging as a parallel to GREAT DEPRESSION of the 1930s.

Predicting a grim picture she said the situation has deteriorated to what it was in a few weeks ago as the novel coronavirus is still active, and there’s no cure available. According to her, nations have taken fiscal measures of $8 trillion, and these measures would expand.

There is “tremendous uncertainty around the outlook” and the duration of the pandemic said Georgieva as quoted in different media. According to her, the crisis would hit emerging markets and developing countries hardest of all, which would then need hundreds of billions of dollars in aid.

The Great Depression started in the United States after a major fall in stock prices that began around September 4, 1929, and became worldwide news with the stock market crash in October month the same year. Some economies started to recover by the mid-1930s. However, in many countries, the negative effects of the Great Depression lasted until the beginning of World War II.

It had devastating effects for both rich and poor countries. Personal income, tax revenue, profits, and prices dropped, while, international trade fell by more than 50%. Unemployment in the US rose to 23% and in some countries rose as high as 33%. Cities around the world were hit hard especially those dependent on heavy industry.

Construction was virtually halted in many countries. Farming communities and rural areas suffered as crop prices fell by about 60%.Facing plummeting demand with few alternative sources of jobs, areas dependent on primary sector industries such as mining and logging suffered the most.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres termed ongoing the pandemic as the worst global crisis since World War II, expressing concern that it could trigger conflicts around the world. He said that the disease is threat to everybody in the world leading to economic impact that will bring a recession, probably has no parallel in the recent past. Pandemic has killed more than 45,000 people and it is a cause of worst economic devastation.

KNOW WHAT ECONOMIC POWERS SAY ABOUT COVID-19 FALL OUT The pandemic outbreak is leading to a global recession as the entire world is heading towards a sustained economic downturn impacting the economies of several countries. What is predicted is falling oil prices, declining capital flows, weakening of industrial production, unemployment on rise and slowdown in GDP per capita growth.

Here’s what other world economic forum have to say about economic fallout of the ongoing global lockdown to stop spread of COVID19:

European Union EU leaders had agreed a €500bn (£440bn; $546bn) economic support package for members of the block which are hit hardest due to the lockdown. It has already moved a proposal for a possible “roadmap” to move away from the restrictive measures. However the rise in number is holding everyone.

World Bank predicts that the pandemic might cause the first recession in African countries in 25 years.

International Labour Organization says the pandemic may lead to “the most severe crisis” since the World War II. It predicted that Coronavirus outbreak could lead to a loss 6.7% of working hours across the world during the second quarter of 2020. It equals 195 million full-time workers losing their jobs.

United Nations had said that 81% of the world’s workforce of 3.3 billion people had had their place of work fully or partly closed because of the outbreak.

Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development warns that the global economy would take years to recover. According to its head – Secretary general Angel Gurría economies were suffering a bigger shock than after the 9/11 terror attacks of 2001 or the 2008 financial crisis.

Oxfam A UK-based charity organization, warned that the economic fallout from the spread of Covid-19 could push atleast half a billion more people into poverty. By the time the pandemic is over, it said, half of the world’s population of 7.8 billion people could be living in poverty.

Institute for International Finance Researchers at the IIF, a global banking association, expect a 2.8% plunge in global GDP, compared to a decline of 2.1% in 2009 during the global financial crisis.

The March 25 killing of pilgrims inside a Kabul Gurdwara has led to the demand of bringing back the Sikhs to India from Afghanistan. Once strong business community, flush with money and resources Sikh community has been reduced to a countable and hapless who are dependent on Gurdwaras for safety and security as Afghanistan government has virtually given in to the pressure from terror groups.

In forty years from 1979 when Russian forces moved into Afghanistan, then a peaceful, fun loving and business oriented nation, number of Sikhs and Hindus were 100,000 plus, the number now have shrunk to 700, in about 150 families. They are living in Kabul and other parts of the terror torn country. Despite historical links with India, all of them are Afghan nationals. Indian government is in quandary as to how it should single out the Sikh community and bring them to safety in India, while attacks on other innocent people and religious minorities in continues, for many years.

In 1980s Sikhs were known to be astute businessmen dealing in foreign currency, construction, dry fruits, opium, textile and import-export. Most of the Kabuli-Sikhs, as they are commonly referred, have shifted base to India, Europe, England, US and Canada. Those who are left behind to fend for themselves are poor, doing odd jobs and run small businesses. They have abandoned their houses, properties, shops and businesses.

Situation became tense in the wake of India’s decision to shut its consulates in Herat and Jalalabad and bring back many of its personnel back home, done mainly to deal with the fast-spreading coronavirus pandemic, from the bordering areas of Iran and Pakistan. The special flight that brought them also carried the bodies of three slain Indian pilgrims who were among the 25 people killed by terrorists in the Gurdwara. There were 65 Gurdwaras and 15 Mandirs symbols of religious and social well beings but all are abandoned, now.

A report by US government also confirmed that only a few places of worship remained open for Sikhs and Hindus. They even face discrimination in getting employment, face interference in performing day to day life chores and are not allowed to cremate their dead. It added that they minority also face state sanctioned discrimination as the properties of Sikhs are illegally appropriated.

Khajinder Singh Khurana a native of Kabul who now lives in New Delhi, told Dissectit, “Afghan Sikhs are an end story soon. Their number is negligible just 700 and all are desperate to move out. People of all age groups are vulnerable but women and girls are worst affected under threat as they can’t go out and are for prevailing scenario most of them are illiterate”.

Going back to the times when Sikh ruler Maharaja Ranjit Singh ruled Punjab, his General Hari Singh Nalwa was the most dreadful persons for the Afghan population, as commander-in-chief of Sikh Khalsa army along the Afghanistan from 1825-37. He conquered frontiers of Jamrud, Peshawar, Multan, Kashmir, Attock, Sialkot and Kasur, extending Sikh territory to Khyber Pass. A trusted general of the Maharaja he had earned the sobriquet Bagh-maar (Tiger Killer) at the age of thirteen as he tore apart a wild cat with bare hands. “There is no life here for Sikhs, and also Hindus” Manmohan Singh who currently lives in Kabul, could barely say this, answering a whatsapp call. Manmohan’s hesitation while taking to Dissectit speaks of fear and an endgame scenario.

Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh and cabinet minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal, had both demanded that the Sikhs be brought to India for safety in the wake of the Kabul Gurdwara attack. But experts on Afghanistan who remained India’s ambassadors in the terror torn country are skeptical in agreeing to bring the Sikhs from the war-torn country.

It is being said that Afghanistan government doesn’t want miniscule minority to pack up, as it would weaken Ashraf Ghani government in Kabul as a vote of “no confidence” from its friends in Delhi at a time when they are putting up a valiant but desperate fight against the Taliban and other terrorist outfits attempting to further destabilize his administration.

Many see a Pakistani hand in the attack against the Sikhs in Kabul. There is a growing view that with the ongoing engagement of the Taliban with the US on peace negotiations, the Pakistan would like to opt for the Islamic State as its preferred tool for conducting most of the future attacks against Indians and its assets in Afghanistan.

All the left out Sikhs families in Afghanistan are looking for an opportunity to sneak out. Left with no option, they are ready to abandon the land, once the area of operation for Hari Singh Nalwa.

USA, CHINA LOCKED IN COLD WAR OVER COVID-19

A secret report submitted to white house by US’s intelligence agency has disclosed that China concealed the number of total Corona virus cases and deaths caused by it. The report which was made by three top officials in US, reached to the conclusion that numbers of virus cases were fake, underreported and concealed.

So far there’s no word by the two countries on confirmation or disagreement to the intel reports.

US government is asking for more cooperation from the eastern country, however, in a cold war like scenario both sides are blaming each other for COVID-19 spread. However US have cleared air on the trade deal as a quid pro quo arrangement. “We’d like to keep it, they’d like to keep,” Bloomberg last week quoted US president Donald Trump, who was speaking on $250 billion trade deal, adding that Beijing would purchase American products,

The urns filled with ashes after funeral is piling up in Hubei province where the virus was reported in 2019, but, China reported 82,000 cases and 3,300 deaths, against much higher figures in reality, a move seen as protecting country’s financial interests. The figures merging form China were confirmed by John Hopkins University. “More cases higher skepticism leasing to trust deficit and bigger losses,” said a Chinese businessman in India.

Republicans in the US, to which Trump belongs, have been selectively blaming china’s role in the outbreak, a move seen as helping the case Potus politically.

China see blame on them as an attempt by US to divert attention from surging deaths in US and the West. US last week reported 245,000 corona positive cases, and 10,000 plus deaths, way past figures from China which is number five on the tally chart.

“There was no way for data faking in China, especially for an incident that has drawn such widespread attention,” wrote Hu Xijin editor-in-chief of China’s state run Global times, wrote on his social media account. He said China managed to curtail the death toll in Hubei by sending medical workers and equipment from other parts of country. He adds that it was not practically possible to fake figures, as then the risk of landing in serious trouble could be very high.

Western world which is in grip of the disease is raising fingers on Iran, Russia, Indonesia, Saudi Arabi, Egypt and North Korean also fudging the figures. In the scenario of hide more and show less, US secretary of state Michael Pompeo while speaking to reporters that data matters. “I would urge every nation: Do your best to collect data. Do your best to share that information. We are doing it” Bloomberg quoted Pompeo. Say your mind, speak up the way out. Dissect it.

Pandemic COVID-19 has spread wings all over the world and in the absence of a cure it is recommended to maintain social distancing. However, Banglewali Masjid in Nizamuddin area of New Delhi – the capital of India came under spotlight when it was reported that there were 2,500 plus Muslims converged from all over the world. They were vulnerable to catch novel coronovirus and are careers. When asked by government to vacate the headquarters there was resistance, initially, as he claims were that diseases such as Corona doesn’t catching them. Later it was agreed upon mutually to vacate the centre.

Since last week scores of bureaucrats, health workers and the police have been searching for thousands of Tablighi Jamaat activists who are spread out in 700 centres countrywide. As Hindustan Times reported Indian authorities have counted atleast 9,000 Tablighis and their contact tracked down and put under quarantined. “It is a nightmare” an officer told HT. Know who Tablighis are, and Dissect it how they could have initiated a jihad for a fight against the pandemic.

Heminder Kaur, wife of KPS Gill former director general of Punjab police, last week came out in public for the first time when approached by an English daily that her husband was not a ‘butcher’. KPS Gill was posted in Punjab in 1988 and commanded operation black thunder in Shri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar. Because of large number of extra judicial killing of Sikh youths during his times at the helm he earned the sobriquet – butcher. However there’s a large section who calls him a ‘Supercop’ for “ending terrorism”. The action of Gill twirling his moustaches used to fascinate Heminder the most who says her husband used to follow the ideals of tenth master Guru Gobind Singh. Your Comments.
